I added an "On This Day feature" to my copy of RQuotes. I added a database feild for the entry date, and some parameters in the module configuration. Now, it checks the current date and then selects a random quote that has the same month and day.
Since I was using it to display some historical journal entries, I also made it so that if the quote is over a certain number of words long, it cuts it off. Clicking on the link pops open a shadowbox with the full quote. The NinjaShadow plugin has to be installed for this to work.
I've attached my changes. I didn't mark the new database in the SQL install file, but otherwise I tried to make sure I marked any of my changed sections with my initials and the date: //RLF-16Jun2010-...
I'm not a web programmer, so it may not be clean, or fast, or correctly done, or anything, but I think it might be a nice feature to add.

Hi!!
Thank you very much for your efforts. Very nice addition to add. I will definitely include your changes in the next version.
I too am not a real programmer but a hobbyist who enjoys getting a program to work (most of the time) as expected. Thanks again
